Hello Ms. Neeraj Chopra,
First of all, thank you for your interest in SIAI’s MSc AI/DS 2-year track.
1. MSc AI/Data Science w/ 2-year track
The 2-year track is a combination of upper-end undergraduate program in the first year, and regular master’s program in the following year. Students are given to fill in missing training from their basic training in our PreMSc-AI/Data Science
For successful candidates with 60% or above grade, especially in the last two courses for theoretic mathematical statistics, the school allows them to advance to the MSc-AI/Data Science Program.
2. Admission exam and applicaiton deadline
If you want to come to the single year MSc directly, the school requests all candidates to pass the admission exam, the details of which can be found in our recent notice - [Notice] 2025-2026 Admission round (Feb 2025 ~ Jul 2025).
You can also find the deadline information for each program in the same notice.
3. Your application strategy
For 2-year program, since the first year is running with open policy to all students, we do not have any admission exam. The track shares first 10 out of 12 courses with AI MBAs’ technical track( MBA-AI & Big Data), in case you have not noticed it yet.
Based on our record, many students convert the track to AI MBA as the MSc track requires rigorous mathematics that are not so practical for business. The MSc is for students looking for hardcore research in this field with dedicated mathematical and statistical tools, just to clarify.
4. Quiz as a proxy for SIAI’s teaching
Regarding the quiz question’s difficulty, it indeed has been discussed many times from a variety of angles within the team. We agree that the questions are a bit too tough. Yet, some of us believe it is an efffective way to screen qualified students from a pool of disqualified. Not that many students are patient enough to read the instruction( GIAI Square Membership Quiz (For Level 1)), let alone finish the quiz.
Since almost every part of our AI/Data Science training requires such focus, committment, and sheer will (yes from John Wick), despite concerns of the quiz being a little unfriendly, we would like to keep it this way. Required hard skills (math, stat, and coding) may vary, depending on courses, but necessary focus is at par with the quiz.
We are actually glad to see strong candidates go extra mile to take the quiz and leave questions on here. And, for those candidates, we have more confidence that they can be successful in the program.
I hope that I have answerd all concerned questions. Plz let us know should you have any more.
All the best,
David
